RED ROCKS UNPAUSED

We needed to do more than just livestream a concert.
 

Born a year before the pandemic, Visible was a new, all-digital phone service by Verizon where you could do everything from your phone. This worked out perfectly in 2020, when live music and everything else was paused. But we were all fans of music and, with the increasing digital fatigue setting in, we realized we needed to reimagine what a virtual performance could feel like. 

The result: Red Rocks Unpaused. A fully interactive, three-night concert series hosted from the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, flipped, re-lit, and reengineered for an all-digital crowd.

Instead of passively streaming artists, we let the fans shape the show in real time.

 

From their phones or desktops, users could:

  • Trigger light shows on the stage

  • Send cheers to performers they actually heard

  • Vote for encore songs and chat with other fans

  • Project messages onto the Red Rocks walls

And it became the most-attended Red Rocks event ever.

  • 8.6M+ views (goal was 1.5M — hit 457% over)

  • 310K+ microsite visits (155% over goal)

  • 2.5 billion earned media impressions

  • 88 media placements (314% to goal)

  • 7M+ engagements, 28K+ chat messages, 24K+ cheers, and nearly 8M emoji reactions


​For the very new Visible, it helped put us on the map not by saying we were digital-first, but by proving it with a first-of-its-kind virtual concert experience.
